About Us

Shared Mobility for ALL is Europe's collaboration making shared mobility options accessible to people with reduced mobility

Who we are

Shared Mobility for ALL is a European collaboration of municipalities, research institutes and companies who want to make sustainable shared mobility options inclusive and accessible for all users, including those with reduced mobility.

Who we are working for

People with physical impairments

Elderly people

Young families

Shared Mobility for ALL aims to make shared mobility suitable for People with Reduced Mobility (PRMs).

The term sounds technical, but it’s likely you already know some people who have reduced mobility when they travel.

In fact, families with young children, the elderly, and people with physical impairments all find that shared mobility does not suit their needs.

We need better city design, new vehicles, and inclusive policies to include people who struggle to get around on shared means of transport.

Our approach

1. Engage with end users to understand their needs

We are bringing people with reduced mobility into the co-creation process to ensure shared mobility really addresses their needs. To do that, our academic partners University of Gent and VU Amsterdam are supporting partners in shaping their engagement strategies and events to learn how to make the most out of co-creation principles.

The experience gathered through our user engagement on shared mobility and the best practices identified will be made available through a guide.

2. Test new shared mobility services, digital solutions and volunteering schemes

11 pilot projects will be deployed throughout the project:

  • 3 shared mobility services with Capital Region of Denmark, City of Saint Quentin and the City of Varberg.

  • 5 digital solutions with the City of Amsterdam, Vervoerregio Amsterdam, Brest Metropole, Mpact and the City of Varberg.

  • 3 volunteering schemes with Fietsambassade Gent, Brest Metropole and Mpact.

3. Advise policy makers towards inclusive shared mobility systems

We aim to support policy makers in developing shared mobility strategies and deploy systems that better take into account the needs of children and families, elderly people and people with physical impairment.

We do this through our expert community and roundtables organised by POLIS and Mpact to consistantly share our progress and discuss at high strategic level how public authorities, transport authorities and shared mobility operators can successfully design shared mobility for all.

Rupprecht Consult will publish policy guidelines and actively disseminate them to European cities to incorporate our findings into SUMPs and other strategic documents.
